I was very very pleased a couple of weeks ago to be photographing the christening day of little Frankie Rose. Frankie’s mum is my lovely cousin Laura and her and Frankie’s dad Jay are very close friends of ours so it was a privilege to be there capturing this special day for them. The christening ceremony took place at the stunning St Peter’s Church in Hale, Cheshire. It’s such a gorgeous church – very atmospheric and lovely colours – if you’re planning on getting married there, I’d love to be your wedding photographer!

Frankie has just turned one year old. She’s got such a great little character already and is very mobile, as you’ll see by some of her antics during the christening ceremony!

Frankie and her half-chewed order of service!

As the christening ceremony moved to the back of the church, Frankie was off… She wanted to inspect the flowers around the font!

One of my favourite photos of the year so far…

After the ceremony, everybody went back to ‘Grannie Annie’s’ for food and drink…

Frankie’s two nanas – Grannie Annie and Nana Kim!

Reflexes tested as Frankie tries to feed the camera!!

This is Frankie’s big sister Hannah, who was very shy and not really into having her photo taken this day!

A game of pass-the-parcel for the older children. Frankie was in charge of the music.

As many of the guests left the party, we headed back over to the church for some portraits in the gardens. First a few with Frankie’s godparents Simon and Helen…

Then possibly one of my favourites of the day of the two sisters together…

I really love on this one how it looks as if the string is attached to Frankie and Hannah is trying to pull her up! For the record it wasn’t attached, but still makes me chuckle!

Off she goes again!

Setting up a nice family portrait, when Hannah decides she’d rather jump on dad Jay’s back – I think you can tell by his face he wasn’t prepared!! To me this is as good as a family portrait, because it’s a family moment. Real, unprompted. I bet they’ll love this photo forever.

The balloon did well to last as long as it did, but then it floated up to the heavens. Quite apt really.

What a lovely family christening day this was. I loved photographing it for them and they love the photos, which is what counts! I’m sure Frankie will love them too when she’s old enough to appreciate them without dribbling!
