I often agonise on the morning of an engagement session about how I’m going to put the couple at ease enough so that we get some great, relaxed, natural portraits. This is usually the first time we’ve met after they’ve chosen me to be their wedding photographer and more often than not it’s the first time in their lives they’ve had a professional portrait session.
Even though Andy needed a bit more convincing than Vicky, I needn’t have worried about these two – they’re so happy, so chilled, and they were a pleasure to spend a couple of hours with one Sunday morning at the end of September.
We met at Lymm Dam (they’re getting married at Lymm Hotel a few minutes away, next Feb) and had a walk around looking for nice locations to stop at for photos. Lymm Dam is a great location for a lifestyle shoot like this and I’ll definitely use it again in future.
I knew I would get on with Vicky and Andy as soon as we met – they’ve got a great sense of humour and we had some good banter during the shoot… Here are my favourites.
