I’m not sure how I forgot to post this engagement shoot before now – Anna and Neil actually got married on 25th April so their wedding will be featuring on this blog very soon, but a couple of months ago we spent the morning walking around Bollington up to a landmark known as White Nancy. Anna and Neil suggested the location and the reason became very clear as we spent the morning walking and chatting…

So… White Nancy. You’ll meet it/her in a second but first a story. Early in Anna and Neil’s relationship, they lived in Bollington. Around Bollington, White Nancy is a very recognisable and famous landmark on top of a hill. And whenever either of them started talking about the future, commitment etc they would say ‘run for the hills – run for White Nancy’. And as they’re keen walkers themselves they have regularly walked up to it (together, not to escape each other!).

A kissing gate… and a kiss.

Anna and Neil walked up to White Nancy one bonfire night, in the pitch dark, to watch the fireworks. How romantic is that. Although having done the walk myself in the daylight and tripped several times, I don’t know how they did it in the dark without breaking something!

This was a seriously cold and windy day in February, so we headed back down again pretty quickly…

Anna and Neil’s wedding was in Sale and Mottram, and I’ll show you the photos in the next week or so…
