Vicky & Andy – A wedding in Lymm

Cheshire Wedding Photographer

Vicky and Andy are such a brilliant couple. You might remember their pre-wedding shoot from a few months ago when we spent an hour around the very picturesque Lymm Dam. I knew from the first moment that I met these two that we’d get along brilliantly. On a cold but dry and sunny day in early February they were married at the Lymm Hotel, and I was there to capture their day for them.

This was Manchester derby day (United vs City) and I was under instructions to wait until half time to do the portraits of Andy and the men!

Then I went back up to the Bridal suite to capture the final moments of Vicky’s preparations. She was so calm, happy and excited and that made for a very relaxed atmosphere up there!

And just before the ceremony, I went back to the bar to capture some of the atmosphere. Luckily I got there just as Wayne Rooney scored the winner and Best Man Greg gave Andy a big smacker on the cheek!

The wedding ceremony room was beautifully decorated in Vicky & Andy’s wedding colour scheme of red and white and with little butterflies everywhere.

The football wasn’t quite over when Andy was called through to take his place to await his bride, so he kept track of the final moments on his phone!

Luckily, despite it being chilly, the sun was beautiful outside so we headed out for some group photos. I quite often ask all the girls to look at the bride for a portrait of the bridal party ladies. Usually this makes the bride a bit self conscious and everyone has a laugh about it and we end up with a nice relaxed photo. In Vicky’s case she just loved the attention which was even better!!

Before the wedding breakfast we had a chance to slip away for some photos of the newlyweds. The light was just beautiful, the setting sun low in the sky, warm light streaming through a gap in the bare trees. I like!

It seems not everyone was looking forward to the speeches!

And some people were a bit apprehensive at what lurks on the table…

Before the evening guests we snuck away again for a few night-time portraits of Vicky & Andy. Some funky flash and darkness. Something a little bit different.

What a great day had by all. Fun, fun, fun from start to finish. Vicky never stopped smiling and Andy never stopped laughing. I do have to apologise to Vicky for the senior moment when I told her the same story twice, word for word and she wasn’t going to tell me out of politeness!

Congratulations guys – and all the absolute best for your future together.
