It’s a slightly more special post than usual for me this one, because it features a very good long-time friend of mine… Rachel and I worked together a long time ago, when I was merely a teenager and we struck up a great friendship back then. We kind of lost touch over the years but then by a twist of fate ended up working together again a few years ago before I started my own business…
Fast forward a few years and I’m standing in the York Marriott Hotel at the front of her wedding ceremony as she walks up the aisle to marry Andrew. It was surreal and emotional for me, and I was really proud to be the one capturing it all for her and Andrew. I’ve just finished the design for their gorgeous Jorgensen wedding album, and it’s going to be an absolute stunner!
I started this late October day with Rachel at the beauty salon… She is, quite honestly, the smiliest person I’ve ever known.
I remember Rachel telling me that she’d met Andrew… I remember her telling me how hilarious he was, and she showed me a photo on her phone, of him pulling a goofy face. Well here he is, preparing to marry her, looking altogether less goofy.
Back with Rachel and that never-to-be-underestimated moment when dad sees daughter in her wedding dress and that hug that says so many things all in the space of a few seconds.
I loved their table names – famous lovers. Everything from Anthony and Cleopatra, to Victoria and Albert, Homer and Marge and Lady and the Tramp. Before their wedding breakfast they had a quiz… now little did I know just how much Rachel LOVES a quiz, and how ultra competitive she is!! Despite a high level of cheating via iphone around the room, Rachel and her mum and dad still won!
The speeches were the perfect concoction – heartfelt, humble and hilarious. And finished with Andrew being ‘mounted’ by a large dog.
After the first dance, I set up a photobooth complete with Halloween themed props (and just plain silly ones) for some fun evening photos!
You know, I always knew there weren’t many people in the world like Rach… and I’m over the moon that she found her Andrew who is equally brilliant. Yes, she’s always smiling, but I’ve never seen her happier. Thanks a million for trusting me to capture your day for you – congratu-bloody-lations you guys.

Asha Dhanda - These are fantastic photoes Adam – i was lucky enough to be a part of Rach and Andrew’s wedding and it was an amazing day, the new Mr and Mrs Rowe are brilliant together and you managed to capture all the special moments from their big day. They can relive it all each time they flick through their album – for which there will be a girly ‘viewing evening’ soon – can’t wait!
