Manchester Family Portraits
Paisley and Mason are the daughter and son of Natalie and Steven, whose wedding I photographed in September 2010. I love it when clients keep in touch with me, and earlier this year Natalie asked me if I’d do some family portraits in Manchester of her two special people.
After a couple of failed attempts to arrange the shoot, we finally met up on a glorious summer day at Heaton Park in Manchester for a fun hour or so walking, talking, and taking photos!
Heaton Park is great for family portrait photography in Manchester. So many brilliant and varied backdrops in quite a small area. Paisley and Mason were a joy to photograph and they had a great time exploring Heaton Park!

Blogging these photos reminds me that although it didn’t last long we did get some great weather this summer. I love this next one.

I’m a big huge fan of dappled sunlight in woodland.

This next one is my absolute favourite from the shoot. To me it’s all a family photo should be – they don’t need to be looking at the camera for it to be a ‘portrait’ – in fact I prefer that they’re not. I love that they’re looking at each other, sitting so closely, and the dappled light and black and white just makes it perfect to me. Natalie and Steven will cherish this photo forever and I’m sure as Mason and Paisley grow up this will also become a very important image to them.

Cool. Just cool.

After she saw the photos, Natalie sent me this message. It’s comments like this that make what I do so worthwhile:
Adam, they are so beautiful! Shed a tear! Very pleased… we think you’re fab! Thank you so much for capturing everything that is important to me so well.

Natalie and Steven have some of these printed BIG and hung on the walls of their home, just where photos should be. Digital photography is all well and good, but photos belong on display, not hidden on discs and hard drives.
I love natural, real family photos – if you’d like some family portraits of you and your family then please get in touch for a chat about what I can do for you.
