Well I’m so far behind with blogging that it’s a little bit of a daunting task to catch up now! I’m up to 23rd July, so I thought I’d give you a preview of what’s to come for 2 reasons:
1) I really want you to see it all
and
2) It’ll give me a kick start to get it all blogged since I’ve now not got another wedding until December 18th so it’s a good chance to catch up!
First of all though – happy Halloween!! I know some people find it more of a pain than something to celebrate, because if you’re like me the doorbell will get more use tonight than it has all year! But it’s becoming more popular in this country with halloween parties and decorations, plus it’s a good excuse to let the inner child free and carve a pumpkin! I can’t take credit for this beauty though, this is Mrs J’s handywork.

And now a chronological look back at the life and times of ARJ Photography since July!
Next on the blog, we’ll be going all international with the fantabulous wedding of Ruth and Rick at The Cinnamon Club in Bowdon, Cheshire. I seriously loved this wedding, and this couple – they’re professional Jazz singers and Rick does Sinatra like I’ve never seen before. Rick’s from the U.S. of A. and their back story is something which belongs in Hollywood.

On the last day of July I was up at Prestbury’s stunning Hilltop Country House for the wedding of Gina and Andy whose family engagement session has already appeared on the blog. It was a proper English summer’s day at a proper English venue and I was assisted by my very good friend Pete.

No sooner had I left Hilltop – a quick sleep later and it was Stockport and Cheshire for Lucy and Griff’s big day – a lovely church ceremony in Hazel Grove followed by a fantastic reception at the exclusive Belle Epoque in Knutsford. A lovely day, for a very cool couple at a very cool venue.

Lucy and Griff’s was my only wedding in August so next up was Natalie and Steven’s engagement shoot in Didsbury, Manchester. I’ve never known anybody quite as nervous as Natalie was when she arrived for the session! Luckily, Steven is one of the most laid back groom’s I’ve met and a combination of his humour and showing Natalie the photos as we went through calmed her down and we got some great images. Here’s a favourite of mine:

A week later, I headed over to West Kirby beach on the tip of the Wirral for Leanne and Chris’s engagement session. They’re such a great couple and we had a great hour on the beach capturing some great images. Leanne’s alter-ego Lilly von Pink even made a couple of appearances!

Next something a little bit different and the first ever ARJ Photography maternity shoot. I met up with Caroline and Liam at a park near their home in Manchester to take some portraits of them with their bump. They’ve since given birth to gorgeous Olive (congrats you guys!) and I’m planning on taking some photos of the gorgeous little lady in the near future for them.

Danielle and Paul’s wedding started September, at a grand veteran of the Cheshire wedding scene – Statham Lodge in Lymm. Danielle officially has THE most infectious laugh of any bride I’ve ever met! They had a church ceremony in Urmston before heading across into leafy Cheshire for their reception. I had lots of fun capturing their day for them.

Less than a week later, Leanne and Chris were married in front of my lenses over in the Wirral – a moving church ceremony followed by a brilliant reception with some great retro touches and the most impressive wedding cake I’ve seen this year!

24 hours later, Paul and Tracy’s wedding day in Cheshire and Stockport. Ceremony at St Chad’s in Handforth then reception at The Moor Suite in Heaton Moor. Our attempt at a couple portrait session at Abney Hall in Cheadle was rained off but we still got some nice photos with the umbrellas!

Next up, Natalie and Steven’s Manchester wedding. Church ceremony then reception at the stylish Novotel hotel in Worsley. I laughed all day – Natalie and Steven are hilarious, and their guests were so friendly to me – especially Natalie’s mum’s sisters!!

That was the last wedding for September, and next I caught up with Liz and Jon for their engagement session in Delamere Forest. Their engagement photos have also since featured on the gorgeous English Wedding blog!

Another engagement session saw out September – this time Vicky and Andy who aren’t getting married until February but really wanted an early autumn engagement session. Lymm Dam was the location and we had a great time despite Andy’s apprehension about having his photo taken!

October began with Melissa and James’ wedding in Manchester. They’re such a great couple, and gave me pretty much carte blanche to take them for photos whenever I felt like it! They had a fantastic, dry autumn day right in between two weeks of constant rain!

The next day, I headed over to Knutsford, Cheshire to meet up with Helen and Tom for a bit of a last minute engagement shoot. We had planned to go for a walk around Tatton, but a day of torrential rain meant we decided to do the photos in a beer garden! A nice beer garden though!

And their wedding was less than two weeks later. I’ve got to tell you these two got married in one of the most impressive churches I’ve ever seen, and one of the coolest reception venues too. It was a lovely autumn day again, and despite Helen’s camera shy-ness we captured some lovely images taking in the Cheshire countryside around The Barn, Cheshire.

A week on, and another super-impressive church and super-cool venue. St Werburgh’s Church and Oddfellows in Chester for Liz and Jon’s wedding day. It was a cold damp day but it didn’t stop Liz and Jon having an amazing time. I loved every minute being their photographer, and we captured some really great relaxed portraits around Grosvenor Park and the ruins during a dry spell between ceremony and reception.

And then yesterday was Helen and Simon’s special day at Worsley Court House in Manchester. A really fun, happy day and Helen’s face especially must be worn out as she didn’t stop smiling all day!

So that’s all coming up on the blog in the next few weeks (I’m tired just thinking about it)! I’m really looking forward to blogging it all though, and especially to hearing what you think, so do let me know!
