An impromptu maternity shoot for Mrs J

Since we’re about to welcome our newest family member into the world, I thought now would be a good time to share these photos…

A few months ago we went away for a week to celebrate my 30th birthday. All was good with the world – we had a week of great weather in Sherwood Forest Center Parcs and it was generally very relaxing. At the time, Sophie was six months pregnant and just like when she was pregnant with Casper I had taken very few, if any, photos of her ‘with bump’.

Well one evening we were walking back from the restaurant and the light was just lovely, everyone was in a good mood, and I had my camera so I quickly decided I’d take a few photos of her there and then… Casper had just picked a flower for her that she’d tucked into her hair.

Our new little boy is due to be delivered by the stork in five days time… It’s a whole load of exciting and terrifying all rolled into one. It’ll be ok though, we’ve done it all before!!

It’s my opinon that maternity shoots are not all about bellies and cliched hands posed as a heart around a belly button. For me it’s more about the person, the woman, the family. Photography freezes you and your life at a point to remember it, remember how you looked, how you felt, how people felt about you at that moment.

Soon after this we had a family shoot with my very good friend Neil Redfern because we knew we had to capture our family dynamic as it is at the moment before it’s changed again forever. Neil did a perfect job.

If you’re interested in me capturing you, your ‘with bump’ state of maternity, your family or anything about your life then please get in touch.

Neil Redfern - Beautiful images Adam – especially the shot of Sophie next to the tree, it’s timeless. Best of luck with everything over the next few days, you must both be so excited!!

cat hepple - Oh my goodness, Sophie does pregnancy so well, she looks fabulous!

What a blooming mum to be, these images have made me quite emotional. These last few days of awaiting a new arrival are like no other.

Good luck to you all, something rather exceptional is about to happen and you know that there is no feeling on earth like it.
