Manchester Town Hall Wedding Photographer
Debbie and John were married back in August. Their ceremony was held at Manchester Town Hall, followed by an intimate reception back at Debbie’s family home in Cheshire. They booked me quite late, but I’m so glad I was still available as it was an absolute pleasure to capture their wedding day for them. Mainly because they’re just so lovely, but also because their day was so personal, so intimate and so very ‘them’. Just the way it should be.
I started the day, as usual, capturing some atmosphere and details with Debbie getting ready at her parent’s Cheshire home…

Yes, this is Debbie’s wedding dress. No, it’s not white. I actually can’t imagine Debbie getting married in a traditional white dress. She looked fabulous. You’ll see shortly that John added a splash of colour to his own outfit too…

The original plan had been for a garden party reception, but this turned out to be a chilly, windy, showery August day so the reception was set up indoors across two dining rooms.

The cake was so beautifully, intricately decorated. It looked too good to eat!

I was so glad I stayed quiet enough so that Debbie’s sister Ellie didn’t notice me taking this one of her practising her reading for the ceremony!

Some fresh air, and a few last minute words of advice from dad before heading off to Manchester Town Hall.

John was ready to greet Debbie’s mum and sister as they arrived. The ceremony was to be very intimate with only around 25 close family guests.

While the guests chatted, I stole John away for five minutes for some relaxed portraits around the town hall…

John’s green socks!

Now then, one of my favourite ‘moment’ photos of 2011. And I’ll tell you why I love it. It’s that moment that everyone’s heart beats a little bit faster. Debbie waits in the wings to make her grand entrance. John waits at the front as he’s about to see his bride. Even my own nerves increase dramatically as this is showtime.

Manchester Town Hall is an amazing wedding venue.

Champagne and mingling after the ceremony. I loved the contrasty light from the amazing big windows in the Manchester Town Hall Conference Hall.

The two dads. There’s just something about this photo that I love.

We left their guests chatting while we took a quick tour of the amazing Manchester Town Hall. I was VERY pleased to find the great hall unlocked!

After a short journey into Cheshire, as Debbie’s father popped open some more champagne and celebrations continued we slipped away again for a short walk around the gardens of Debbie’s family home. These photos were very important to Debbie in particular as she has so many memories here.

These two have the most amazing ability to make each other laugh in an instant. It’s brilliant.

After the wedding breakfast, it was time for the speeches. With everyone in the dining room it created the perfect atmosphere. Lord Lee read out some letters that Debbie had written to him as a young child, needless to say it was absolutely hilarious!

John and his brother had a tough act to follow, but both of them had everyone laughing just as much.

All that was left, was to cut that incredible cake!

What an amazing day it was. An absolute privilege to be part of and capture for Debbie and John and their families.
Debbie and John – I know you had a fantastic day, and I wish you all the very best for a long and happy marriage. Hope to see you again soon!

Adam Riley - Great shots Adam, looks like you’ve really captured the emotion of the day- love the socks too!
Martin Hambleton - Adam, you’ve done a fantastic job. The second wedding I’ve looked at this week that reminds me what an absolutely fabulous building the Town Hall is. Your shots there are superb, although I actually like best the speeches and relaxed shots at home later. You’ve captured completely the atmosphere of a small, intimate wedding. Well done.
cat hepple - Yipppeeee so SO lovely to see a brave bride, who has gone with her own style and looks so radiantly beautiful as a result.
Lovely images, especially love the ones after the ceremony in the town hall, fab use of light.
