Tuscany wedding photography in Casole D’Elsa, Antinori and Castello di Casole

J+E’s amazing destination wedding in Tuscany

I was over the moon when my great friend Andy Gaines asked me to come to Tuscany to photograph J+E’s wedding with him! I’d never been to Tuscany before and absolutely couldn’t wait to experience it. And I wasn’t disappointed, as it shot into my official ‘favourite places in the whole fricking world’ list. Top 5 easily. Maybe even top three!

J+E had a whole weekend of activities planned for their friends and family. They had chosen the quite incredible Castello di Casole as their wedding venue and base – a quite exquisite five-star hotel in the Tuscany hills. One of those places which you can’t help just staring at for a minute when you arrive as it’s just like something out of a movie!

We spent the first afternoon doing a pre-wedding shoot around Castello di Casole and the nearby town of Casole D’Elsa – a super quaint and very authentic little Italian town. Pizza and gelato was heavily involved at this point. I couldn’t believe the light as the sun went down over Castello di Casole either, it was actually incredible and although we didn’t have long to play with it, while we had it it was something special!

The next day we headed out to a private chateau they’d managed to find for some more pre-wedding portraits, and then they did some pizza making classes at Castello di Casole (that I can’t show you as J+E want to keep the images of their friends and family private) and then headed over to the jaw-dropping winery Antinori Chianti Classico in Val di Pesa, Florence to treat their guests to a welcome dinner and tour of Antinori. This place is an absolute architectural masterpiece! And the wine’s not too bad either!

Then it was time for the wedding day. The weather was perfect for their outdoor blessing at Castello di Casole in the evening sunlight. Seriously, this Tuscany light, man alive. And then they had dinner, drinks and dancing in a bespoke marquee in the grounds of Castello di Casole. A magical end to three incredible days.

I loved being a Tuscany wedding photographer for the first time. Hopefully the first of many. If you’re planning a wedding in Tuscany and love what you see here and in my portfolio, please get in touch – I’d love to chat to you!
