Kenya Destination Wedding Photography – Enashipai, Naivasha
In November I went to Kenya to document Parit and Sonal’s wedding for them. It was without a doubt the most surreal, rewarding and unforgettable week of my life as a photographer. Thinking back now I can’t remember my feet touching the ground, I can just remember witnessing an incredible three days of hindu wedding traditions and partying, sleeping very little and enjoying every single second of it. And I want to thank my good friend and really great photographer Liam Crawley for joining me on this one – great to have you along buddy!
Kenya is a truly incredible country, I just wish I’d been able to see more of it. Incredible landscapes and wildlife I expected, but was genuinely taken aback at the friendliness of the people. Every Kenyan we met treated us like an old friend. I’ll never forget being told “while in Kenya, you are Kenyan” and the security guard who instead of sending us away, showed us the safest places to see hippo up close! I’ve started this post with a few images taken from the car window on the way from Nairobi up to Naivasha where the wedding was taking place, just to set the scene a little!
When we arrived in Naivasha, at Enashipai, there was just this vibe – stuff was happening, final preparations were underway and there was an air of excitement and anticipation. I knew after meeting Sonal and Parit and their close family that this was going to be something special… and it really was.
So this post is to try and sum up day one. I’ve tried to be strict and select only around 100 images per day, and day one was all about arrivals, Sonal’s gifts ceremony, garden party, dinner and dancing. Words don’t do it justice, photos do, so let’s get to those…

I seriously did not want to stop taking photos!! But knowing that a 6am start was waiting for us the next day (the ‘main events’ day) we knew it was probably best that we at least tried to get a few hours sleep! Day two coming soon…
