Pre Wedding Photography Norfolk // Engagement Shoot at Holkham Beach
Some days the photography gods align and everything goes perfectly. Sunday was one of those days.
Ria and Bejay are marrying in a two day extravaganza at Down Hall Country House Hotel on the border of Hertfordshire and Essex in July. I was looking forward to it before Sunday, and now I seriously can’t wait. We had so much fun exploring Holkham Beach in Norfolk for a few hours on Sunday afternoon – I had driven down from Cheshire and they had driven up from Essex and it was the first time we had met but we instantly got along brilliantly. We arrived on the beach at tea time as most people were leaving and pretty much had it to ourselves for the evening – it was paradise! If you’ve never been I would highly recommend a visit, although the local cafe had run out of tea, coffee, food and milk by the time we arrived at 4pm so maybe get there a little earlier in the day, or take your own snacks!!
We had planned the shoot for the evening hoping for a spectacular sunset, but by 6pm when we started taking photos it had become quite overcast and as we got toward the end of the shoot, it looked like we weren’t going to get our sunset. Then, just as we were about to head back to the car park the sun found its way through and for about three minutes we had our picture perfect sunset, then it was gone. And an almost perfect pre-wedding shoot became perfect.
Thanks a million to Ria and Bejay for putting complete faith in me, driving three hours to Norfolk and just being generally brilliant people. July can’t come soon enough!!
