London Wedding – 10-11 Carlton House Terrace Wedding Photography
Oliver and Roz’s London wedding photography at Carlton House Terrace
I flippin’ love London these days. And I say that as a former London-phobic! Nowadays I massively look forward to my trips down south and Oliver and Roz’s London wedding at 10-11 Carlton House Terrace is part of the reason for that. What a beautiful and lovely day this was for two absolutely tremendous people that I feel lucky to have met.
As my 2014 wedding season draws to a close (I have three amazing weddings left), I’m beginning to reflect on what has been my favourite year as a wedding photographer and I’ve started the impossible task of putting my favourites together for my annual look-back blog post. I’ve never been busier, I’ve never shot as many weddings as I have this year, and my family will need reminding who I am during the winter but boy have I loved 2014.
Oliver and Roz’s wedding was back in August at the beautiful hidden gem of 10-11 Carlton House Terrace in Westminster. Some days everything clicks into place, something happens and everything seems to effortlessly go perfectly. This was one of those days. Amazing light, bucketloads of emotion (I actually thought Oliver’s heart might have stopped when he saw Roz in her dress for the first time) and just a massively chilled atmosphere from start to finish. We had sun when we wanted it and even managed a stroll across The Mall to get some super cool couple and bridal party photos at the edge of St James’ Park, getting back through the doors of 10-11 Carlton House Terrace just as the heavens opened. And the speeches, oh the wonderful, hilarious speeches…
I love that weddings still surprise me – and this was the first time I’ve seen a Chinese lion dance and received a face full of lettuce! Oliver and Roz put on this spectacle for their guests instead of a first dance as a first dance wasn’t really their thing. It created a really fun atmosphere and was a great way to kickstart their party. I remember vividly as I walked out of 10-11 Carlton House Terrace to get a cab back to my hotel I just felt really thankful that this is somehow my job.
Photos… lots of them. Enjoy!
