2012 Wedding Photography – A year of incredible memories!
Two days ago I covered my 34th and final wedding of 2012 and immediately began pulling together images for this post – my favourites from 2012. I wanted to feature my 100 favourites, but I’ve presented over 20,000 images to my couples this year and choosing just a few from each wedding and pre-wedding experience was so hard! On my first attempt I got over 500 and I’ve managed to ruthlessly whittle it down to just under 200. So it’s a bit of a long post, but I love them all too much to remove any more!
[I actually still have about fifteen weddings left to blog fully from 2012, so this post contains never before blogged images!]I’ve loved every minute of this year, personally and professionally and I’m so proud of the year I’ve had, of the images I’ve created, of the people I’ve met and the places I’ve seen. This year this ‘job’ of mine has taken me on engagement shoots in Paris and Madrid and to photograph a wedding in Kenya as well as taking me back to some of my favourite venues and some new ones in the UK. I’m flattered and grateful to every single couple who I’ve worked with this year, and to everyone who I’m already booked to work with next year and the year after. I genuinely can not wait.
I’m so lucky to do this job – not only because I get to go to loads of weddings and take photos of lovely people for a living, but because of the memories it creates in me. I’m not going all cliche about ‘creating memories’ (those who know me know how much I hate cliches!) but I have a head full of great moments from the last 12 months that stir up all kinds of emotions, hopefully my images do the same for you – thank you all for inviting me into your lives!
And thanks, as always, to the best wife of them all – Sophie (Mrs J) – for your incredible support, and letting me stay in bed for a bit the morning after every wedding. You’re the best!
If you’d prefer you can view the photos as a gallery or slideshow instead here. Without further ado, in no particular order, I give you a selection of my favourite wedding photographs from 2012…
And so onto 2013. I can’t wait. My challenge is to keep improving, keep trying to be different and to create collections of images that my couples adore. Happy New Year everybody!
