Colshaw Hall Weddings – Elena and Colin
Elena and Colin’s amore extravaganza wedding at Colshaw Hall
One of my favourite weddings of all time. Two of my favourite people. A beautiful venue on a beautiful day in Cheshire, full of people overflowing with emotion. That’s amore.
I’m glad to finally get to showcase Elena and Colin’s Colshaw Hall wedding here on the blog. It was an unforgettable day in so many ways, and a pleasure to work on it with some of my absolute best wedding buddies – Silk Wedding Films and Flossy and Leigh makeup artists. And apart from me showing up at the wrong golf course in the morning, this was a day that couldn’t have gone any better in any way!
My day started with Col and the boys on the golf course (once I found the right one). It was all very civilised and supportive but silently competitive too!! I then zipped over to El’s parents house where she was getting ready with her mum, dad and bridesmaids. El was a complete ball of nerves which I wasn’t expecting at all, though she seemed to get calmer and calmer as the time approached to leave for the ceremony which is the opposite of most brides who start calm and get more nervous! Elena is not most brides though. Although I knew this before the wedding day and one of the reasons I was so excited for their wedding…
“After I get my dress on shall we climb over the wall into that field for some photos, Adam?” she said. Erm, YES!
Their ceremony at the absolutely stunning St John’s RC church in Chorlton, Manchester was probably my favourite church ceremony ever. So much laughter, so many smiles, beautiful light and beaming happy faces everywhere. I was absolutely in my element. Afterwards, the atmosphere outside the church felt very European with huge heartfelt hugs and kisses and throw-your-head-back laughter.
They arrived at Colshaw Hall in Knutsford in their Rolls Royce, followed by three white cabs containing mostly insanely beautiful bridesmaids. After some drinks and close family group photos in the walled garden we headed into the gardens for some bridal party fun and portraits of E+C. I’m running out of superlatives to describe these people or this wedding but suffice to say it was pretty great stuff.
After the guests took their seats for dinner, Elena and Colin were announced into the room to what is I’m pretty sure their personal theme tune – That’s Amore – and the atmosphere was hair-on-the-back-of-your-neck electric.
The day finished with hilarious and heartfelt speeches and an absolutely packed dancefloor. Perfection.
When you walk in a dream but you know you’re not dreaming seniore…. Scuzza me, but you see, back in old Napoli… THAT’S AMORE!
Such an immense pleasure to get to know you both and your amazing families and friends. Such a pleasure to spend this day taking photos of you all. Congratulations, and never change.
