Liz and Gill’s same sex outdoor wedding at Delamere Cherry Orchard Lake

I fell in love with Liz and Gill right from their first email. They were so enthusiastic about my work and working with me for their wedding at Delamere Cherry Orchard Lake, that I was devastated to reply and tell them I was unfortunately already booked for their date. An epic back and forth email conversation followed, and the result was them moving their wedding by a week so that I could be part of it! This isn’t something that happens often but it’s so incredibly flattering and humbling when it does happen. I guess it also adds an element of additional pressure in my mind but mainly it’s just incredibly flattering and I’m super thankful to Gill and Liz for putting so much faith in me!

The other added pressure came on the day as I found out that Liz was also a photographer! She’d kept that quiet but her dad let it slip while I was getting some photos of her having her hair and makeup done!

Liz and Gill had their wedding at the incredible Cherry Orchard Lake near Delamere Forest, run by the awesome people at Delamere Events (thanks Dean, Paul and team for your hospitality and help throughout the day). They had tipis and amazing food by Smohk and Mischief and later on pizzas from Flour and Furnace. The whole day had such an amazing chilled out vibe to it, and it was my absolute pleasure to capture it all for them (with the brilliant help of Toni Darcy, awesome as ever!).

Liz and Gill’s wedding ceremony was by the small lake at Delamere Events, and they had a traditional hand fasting ceremony, a really lovely, personal ceremony in which the ribbons were delivered by their closest friends. Then their wedding rings were brought to the front by Coco – the love of their life and “Dog of Honour” for the day! Coco sat so patiently at the back of the ceremony but absolutely couldn’t wait to get to the front when her big moment arrived!
