Eden at Broughton Hall Wedding Photography
Paula and Jaemie’s emotionally supercharged Eden at Broughton Hall wedding
There are some weddings where words fail me, and this is one of those weddings. I knew the first time I met Jaemie and Paula on Skype that there would be something special about their wedding day at Eden at Broughton Hall. I didn’t know at that point that they would start the day dressed as a lion and a tiger at their registry wedding to make up for not getting married on safari, or end it with Jaemie in his kilt and hoodie under a tunnel of sparklers with Paula. I didn’t know there would be moments during their Eden at Broughton Hall ceremony where the world would melt away as perspective was given to what is really important in life. I didn’t know that one of Jaemie’s three utterly hilarious best men would commentate on the cake tasting competition as if it was the grand national, or that Paula would look like she was being kidnapped while being helped into her dress by her gorgeous and amazing bridesmaids. No, I didn’t know any of that. I lived those amazing moments along with them and their guests as they happened, and it was truly and amazingly memorable.
I’d never heard of Eden at Broughton Hall before P+J’s wedding. I did the usual and googled it beforehand and, yeah, it looked lovely. But in reality it’s better than lovely. Eden is one of the properties on the Broughton Hall estate in Yorkshire. It’s kind of like a little chateau and when you hire it for your wedding it’s all yours. It feels so private, so perfect and the atmosphere is homely, relaxed and down to earth.
So yeah, Eden at Broughton Hall is a phenomenal venue, funny stuff happened all day and every single person at this wedding had a great time. But truthfully I’ve never experienced such open, loving, caring people as Paula and Jaemie. They take wearing your heart on your sleeve to another level. And their family and friends are just the same. This is a group of people who, collectively and individually, had an effect on me this day. Truthfully. This is actually one of the hidden benefits of doing the job that I do – I weekly get a reminder of what is important in life and the people I meet inspire in so many different ways. I’m so grateful to have been Paula and Jaemie’s wedding photographer at Eden at Broughton Hall and I wish them a lifetime of good luck and happiness. They truly deserve it.
Picking photos for this blog post was hard, but this is a selection of my favourites from this stupendous day at the end of July…
