Islington London + 116 Pall Mall wedding
Jocelyn and Walton’s London wedding at Islington Town Hall and 116 Pall Mall
You’ve met Jocelyn and Walton before when I featured their sunrise-to-sunset engagement shoot in Biarritz! That was the first time I met them, and what an incredible day that was, exploring Biarritz, France and San Sebastian in Spain, and such a cool way to meet them and Walton’s family who had flown over from Virginia, USA to be with them for that trip.
Their wedding in London began with some hilarious Chinese door games, which are traditional element of Chinese weddings where the bridesmaids basically humiliate the groom to make him prove his worth! Walton passed with flying colours of course. The rest of the day was just brilliant – after an intimate, emotional ceremony at Islington Town Hall, Walton declared outside that him and Jocelyn were going to the pub across the road, and anyone who wanted to join them was welcome or they could go exploring and meet back for a bus ride to the official reception at 116 Pall Mall in a few hours. How perfect is that?! Obviously everyone went to the pub, and it was the most laid back ‘drinks reception’ I think I’ve ever known! At some point we went off for a wander and made portraits, before jumping on a London bus which took us all over to the gloriously beautiful 116 Pall Mall for yet more drinks, before dinner, speeches and dancing…
Did I mention dancing? Jocelyn and Walton’s truly international love story is a beautiful one, but I’m not going to tell it here because it’s not my story… but trust me it’s beautiful, and it involves swing dancing. That’s where Walton truly won Jocelyn’s heart and vice versa. So in the evening of their wedding, they began with a swing-set by the very teachers who had taught them back then. Special stuff! And seeing them dance together was quite spectacular.
