Leor and John’s Lake District wedding

Wow August is starting to feel like a long time ago, especially now we have our Christmas decorations up! But August is where I’m taking you back to today for Leor and John’s wedding day at Cragwood Country House on the banks of Lake Windermere in the incredible English Lake District. There’s something about the Lake District – it somehow feels disconnected from the UK in a very good way – there’s a serenity about it and every time I make the drive up the M6 I can somehow feel myself relaxing as I get closer! Then suddenly you’re surrounded by the most amazing scenery and the rest of the world disappears. John is lucky enough to have grown up in the Lake District – must be why he’s such a mellow and easy going guy! Leor is such fun to be around too – she has the most infectious smile and laugh and wears her heart on her sleeve in the best possible way! It’s been such a pleasure to get to know them and be part of such a special time in their lives.

Leor and John had planned an outdoor ceremony followed by drinks and games on the lawns of Cragwood country house. But the English summer had other plans and after a morning spent looking out of the windows, refreshing weather apps and standing outside with palms facing upwards and frowny faces, the chairs and flowers were brought inside and plan B initiated. We still managed to spend quite a bit of time outside making photos once the drizzle subsided, and it was dry enough for their Lake Windermere boat trip to go ahead although not many braved the top deck!

Leor and John – massive congratulations to you both and thanks for trusting me to capture your wedding for you! I had such a good time with you all!
