Parklands Quendon Hall Sri Lankan Hindu Wedding
Anita and Alkay’s amazing Sri Lankan Hindu wedding at Parklands Quendon Hall in Essex
Anita and Alkay were supposed to be my first wedding of 2020, but then – ya know – the meteorite hit, postponements happened, and many whatsapp messages were exchanged over the course of the next year and a bit. When I finally arrived at Parklands Quendon Hall it honestly felt like a little miracle had occurred and I got the absolute warmest welcome ever from Anita, although I don’t think her makeup artist Thushi was very impressed as Anita hugged me so hard she wiped off half her makeup on my shirt sleeve!
A crazy busy but absolutely brilliant day would unfold at the amazing Parklands Quendon Hall as Anita and Alkay had a lot packed in – first their Sri Lankan Hindu Tamil ceremony in the marquee, followed by a quick change for their Catholic blessing in the garden by the pavilion, then back into the marquee for some dinner and speeches, before another change of outfits to kick off their party. Tamil ceremonies involve a change of outfit half way through as well so all in all that’s 4 outfits on the day for Anita! Only three for Alkay! Anita’s sarees are from Ranya Sarees.
It was also amazing, as always, to work with my friends from Reel Weddings who were filming Anita and Alkay’s Parklands Quendon Hall Sri Lankan Hindu Wedding.
I absolutely loved spending this day with Anita, Alkay and their families. It was also great to see Natasha and Sachin who had recommended me to Anita and Alkay! You’ll see in the photos below what an absolutely joyous day this was at Parklands filled with cheek-aching smiles, raucous laughter, proper hugs and absolutely overflowing with love and happiness from start to finish. I’m a massive Anita and Alkay fan and I hope it’s not too long before I get to hang out with them again!
