Sarah and Matt’s wedding at Sandon Hall
What a great day this was, that I was fortunate to enjoy with Sarah, Matt and their family and friends for their wedding at Sandon Hall last October. It was just fun and laughter from start to finish! I hadn’t ever been to Sandon Hall before Sarah and Matt’s wedding and it’s a really beautiful wedding venue down in Staffordshire. I stopped off on the way to capture some of the atmosphere at the hotel down the road where Matt and his groomsmen were getting ready, before pulling up to the striking Sandon Hall and heading up to find Sarah and her bridesmaids up in the amazing bridal suite, half of which is like a museum – I loved the decor and light in this room. So cool!
Sarah and Matt’s ceremony was really a joy to watch and capture. These two were super relaxed anyway, hardly any nerves at all, but once they were together at the top of the aisle they were constantly whispering to each other and smiling and laughing their way through a really lovely and personal ceremony, complete with the coolest orders of service in the style of a local newspaper.
After some great speeches we headed out into the dark to play with Sarah’s heart shaped umbrella and some lights. I always tell people photography is, and should be, lots of fun. Portraits are a chance to play, and that’s exactly what we did. I won’t tell you how many shots it took to get the mid-air umbrella shot at the top of this post!
Enough talking, have a look at some of my favourite photos from Sarah and Matt’s Sandon Hall wedding…
