Yorkshire Wedding Photographer // Sian + Luke

Sian and Luke had arranged a surprise for their wedding guests. Only the two of them knew about it. It started when someone burst into the dining room and instructed the string trio (Trio Vivo) to play “Just One Cornetto” and then sang it really horribly. At this point, Sian’s dad was ready to remove the guy from the venue, and ensure he never returned! But as soon as he finished, one of the ‘waitresses’ sang O Sole Mio incredibly as Sian, Luke, their families and friends fell into awe-struck silence followed by rapturous applause. It was incredible. The ‘cornetto’ singer then proceeded to prove that it was all a good act as he and the singing waitress reduced many in the room to tears as they sang a few more well known classical songs. It was an absolute privilege to witness. The whole thing was organised by The Wedding Concierge Helen Davies, and Chris Hilton’s The Event Music Company. Both of whom it was an absolute pleasure to work alongside for this quite incredible wedding, as well as the quite brilliant make-up artist Victoria Farr. It was also brilliant to have the super talented Chris Mee shooting this wedding with me.

I also need to mention Chrissie Wright, and her Horticouture team. Never have I seen so many sunflowers! Chrissie and her team had done an incredible job of augmenting the beauty of Swinton Park with some incredible floral displays. I did think it was quite hilarious when Martin, Sian’s dad, burst into the room where they were assembling the displays and exclaimed “What part of ‘tulips’ did you not understand?!?!”

But aside from the amazing venue, beautiful styling, gorgeous flowers, incredible music and fireworks, what I’ll remember most about this wedding is the way Luke looked at Sian when she arrived to stand beside him for their ceremony, the emotional reading by Luke’s mum, the hilarious speeches and loving families and friends. This is not one I’ll forget any time soon for sure…
