Swinton Park Wedding Photography

Ok it’s a new year and it’s time to catch up on blogging from last year, so here is Lou and Stu’s wedding from the spectacular Swinton Park up in the Yorkshire Dales. I was invited to cover this wedding alongside my very very good and lovely friend Cat Hepple, for which I am very grateful!

Lou and Stu broke tradition at their wedding and saw each other before their ceremony , partly so they could have ‘that moment’ in private rather than at the top of the aisle, and partly to give them time to get some incredible photos in an area of the Swinton Park grounds that they fell in love with. This notion of a ‘first look’ is quite popular in the USA but is still a little unusual over here. Let me tell you, it’s special. Quite honestly I had goosebumps as Lou walked quietly up behind Stu and I saw him begin to smile. If you’re getting married, even if I’m not your photographer, you should consider doing this – and not just for the photos. Lou still walked into their ceremony on the arm of her Dad as you’ll see and they both said the top-of-the-aisle moment was still super special, perhaps even more so.
