Wadhurst Castle Wedding Photography Kent
Erin and Colin’s wedding in Kent at the amazing Wadhurst Castle
Erin and Colin had planned an outdoor ceremony in the walled garden at Wadhurst Castle. In June. How dare they, thought the British summer weather and spent all morning threatening to rain, and then it did rain. But only for long enough that they couldn’t get married outside, then stopped. Good old British summer!
But the beauty of a venue like Wadhurst Castle is that it doesn’t matter – the inside is just as beautiful as the outside. Erin and Colin’s Wadhurst Castle wedding in Kent was my first visit to Wadhurst Castle, and my first wedding in Kent for that matter! It wasn’t what I expected. For a castle style venue it has somehow retained a homeliness, an intimacy that you don’t often find at venues so grand. It has a friendly, welcoming vibe that I love to find at wedding venues and for this day Wadhurst Castle just felt like Erin and Colin’s home.
So they got married inside, and it was beautiful. Erin cried her way down the aisle with her dad who she absolutely adores, and then laughed her way through the ceremony as she married Colin, who she absolutely adores. And together they spent the rest of the day leaving their family in friends in no doubt about how much they adore them too! I love seeing people this close to their families and friends, it’s such a joy to be part of weddings with this level of intimacy.
And once the rain cleared up, we still managed to make it outside to explore the walled garden that Erin loves so much – and then the rain came back in the evening so we could make some cool shots with it in the darkness.
All in all, a pretty perfect, and very British, wedding! Here are some of my favourites from Erin and Colin’s wedding at Wadhurst Castle in Kent…
