Welcome to ARJ Photography®! My name is Adam and I’ve been a Manchester wedding photographer since 2010. Born and raised in South Manchester, which is where I still live now raising my family of proud Mancunians! I love this city and I’ve made this page to tell you exactly why I’d love to be your Manchester wedding photographer and tell you a bit more about my general style and approach to my wedding photography.

My style of wedding photography is a blend of creative editorial and documentary styles. For the vast majority of the day I just let your wedding happen and capture it in natural and candid wedding photos. But I love to take cool, natural and creative portraits of you as a couple too, so I encourage you to make a little bit of time for that too. More about my style below!

My Manchester Wedding Photography – Editorial Documentary Style

I photographed my first ever wedding as ARJ Photography back in February 2010, and over the years I’ve developed a wedding photography style which is truly my own and instantly recognisable as “ARJ”.

You’ll hear a lot of buzz words as you search for your wedding photography and you’re ‘educated’ left, right and centre on all the wedding photography styles. My style sits across two of the styles really, so over time I’ve come to call it ‘editorial documentary’ because I think I take the best of both and blend them into what I consider to be perfect wedding photography.

I believe in the absolute magic of reality, so for almost the whole day I will be turning the real iconic moments of your wedding into amazing photos. That’s documentary.

But I do believe that my knowledge of light, colour and composition mean I can sometimes make the photos better than they would be if I just give a little direction or if I have an idea. So sometimes I will give a little direction or make a suggestion. That’s editorial.

I also love to take a few of those good old timeless group photos, and I adore taking you away for a short time to make some amazing photos of the two of you together. But never for long enough that you feel like you’re missing stuff or that your guests end up wondering where you are. 20 mins is plenty for this!

So that’s my blend of editorial documentary wedding photography. It’s all about making sure you get the PERFECT set of wedding photos!

Wedding Photography Manchester – Experienced and Award Winning

I’ve been photographing weddings in Manchester and beyond since 2010. In that time I’ve photographed over 600 weddings in 21 different countries across four of the world’s continents. I’ve had a career I could never have dreamed of, but Manchester is and will always be my home and I love to photograph weddings in Manchester.

I’ve won hundreds of wedding photography awards during my career, mostly just for individual photos here and there, but I’ve also won a couple of the industry’s top wedding photography awards, which I’m really proud of.

I’ve twice been named on Junebug Weddings “Best of the Best” list, which is one of the top accolades for a wedding photographer.

But what I’m most proud of is that I’ve won The Wedding Industry Awards national title of “Wedding Photographer of the Year” not just once, but twice. Not many people have won that award, and even fewer have won it more than once.

The best thing about The Wedding Industry Awards title, is that it’s not only judged on the quality of my wedding photos, but it’s also based on the service and experience I provide as my couples had to provide anonymous reviews and feedback as part of the judging process.

The best award though, is all the reviews and recommendations I’ve received over the years from past couples and their friends and families.

I’m as passionate now as I was back at my first wedding in 2010, and now I bring all those years of experience as well as my never-ending passion for making the best wedding photography ever.

As much as I would come to your wedding as your Manchester wedding photographer (obviously), in my mind I’m also there as a guest and one of your mates.

This is vitally important to me because I want to capture the true essence of your wedding, who you are as individuals and who you are as a couple.

I also want to capture your friends and family in a way that you feel like someone who cared about them as much as you do took the photos.

I mentioned earlier that my passion is capturing the absolute magic of reality. I talk a lot on this website and in my blog posts about iconic moments. I think our wedding day is one of the iconic days of our lives – it’s totally unique in that for that one day all your favourite people will be with you in one place.

The moments that happen on that day will become part of your family history. The photos I take will bottle those iconic moments so you can jump back in, Mary Poppins style, whenever you want to go back to your wedding day.

Capturing moments in a beautiful way is a skill I’ve worked hard on for more than a decade, to make sure that every photo I take for you will be worthy of being in a big frame on your wall.

Ah the Manchester weather isn't that bad. And actually the rain makes the streets shine and then you get all the cool reflections and everything glistens. The key to being a good wedding photographer is rolling with it and still making incredible photos for you.

Manchester is a great city for wedding photography because Manchester is a great city! The architecture from the old stuff like the town hall to the new skyscrapers like the beetham tower. It's all here. It's Manchester and there's nowhere like it!

Do you photograph both small, intimate weddings and large celebrations in Manchester?

I have photographed weddings with 8 people and I've photographed weddings with 1500 people. So however small or large your wedding is going to be, if my photography makes your heart sing then I can be there for you!

I consider myself a specialist of Indian wedding photography. I've photographed many Sikh, Tamil, Sindhi and Hindu weddings over the years, all over the world so I'd love to be your Indian wedding photographer in Manchester please!

I absolutely love Jewish weddings. I joke that if I leave a Jewish wedding without some kind of injury I wasn't working hard enough. But joking aside yes, I've photographed a good few Jewish weddings over the years and I think I'm the perfect wedding photographer for Jewish weddings because of my documentary approach.
