35mm and medium format film wedding photography
Film wedding photos on 35mm and medium format from weddings in Cheshire, Manchester and beyond
This is where you’ll find my weddings on film – 35mm and medium format photographs with all the colour, grain and nostalgia that comes with real film photography. I photograph weddings on both film and digital, but film sits at the heart of how I feel about the magic of photography and life.
What sets this work apart is that I don’t just shoot my own film – I also develop it and scan it myself in the ARJ darkroom (the dARJroom), so what you see here is a complete, honest thread from the moment I press the shutter to the moment you see the photo. All ARJ, start to finish. Total magic.
Every photograph on this page was made on film at a real wedding, using a mix of cameras – most often my Contax Aria, Leica Minilux and Mamiya RB67 – and a variety of film stocks chosen for the light, time of year and feel of the day. If you’d like to read more about how I approach this, you can head over to my film wedding photographer page.
If you’re wondering why film feels so different, you might enjoy my article on why choose film wedding photography, where I explain what it brings to a wedding day and how I use it alongside digital.
