Claire and James’ wedding at Kensington Roof Gardens and Chelsea Old Town Hall
From the second I arrived to take photos of Claire and her bridesmaids getting ready in the morning I knew this would be a fun one. The banter and sarcasm was off the scale and I felt like part of the gang within minutes of arriving. Non stop laughter and everyone totally relaxed and looking forward to the day ahead!
Claire and James got married at Chelsea Old Town Hall in a light-hearted and laughter filled ceremony followed by some of the best post-ceremony hugs I’ve ever seen while they all drank champagne before hot-footing it over to Kensington Roof Gardens for more drinks, food and partying.
I couldn’t believe what an incredible place Kensington Roof Gardens is! Once you’re up there you absolutely can’t believe you’re in central London! I hadn’t even looked at the Kensington Roof Gardens website in the build up – I like to be surprised and see where my instinct takes me. So when Claire asked me in the build up to get a photo of the flamingoes I naturally assumed she was having some fake flamingoes or something as part of her decor. Nope – actual real life flamingoes. Crazy town.
They spent the rest of their wedding at Kensington Roof Gardens, with drinks and canapes in the Spanish Garden and their wedding breakfast and speeches in the Tudor Garden. We explored all over the roof gardens making portraits while their friends and family stalked the flamingoes trying to get a flamingo selfie. These birds are smart though and make it virtually impossible which is quite funny to watch!
In the evening we headed up to Babylon restaurant to get a few portraits overlooking the rooftops of London before they headed back downstairs for their party. I had such fun capturing Claire and James’ wedding at Chelsea Old Town Hall and Kensington Roof Gardens and here are a few of my favourites…
