Church and Marquee Wedding Photography in Nottinghamshire
Honor and Aziz’s amazing church and marquee wedding in Nottinghamshire

I’m never under any illusion how important the job I do as a wedding photographer is. It’s a responsibility I’ve always taken seriously beyond the creativity and stylised portrait photos just to capture an authentic and real representation of the couple and their day so that I can hopefully transport people back to their wedding day whenever they want to go there. It’s why over the first few years of my career I really focussed on becoming a good documentary photographer – I’ve always wanted my couples to look through their photos and say ‘yeah, that’s us’ and ‘I feel like I’m there again’. If I can make them feel these two things then I feel like I’ve absolutely achieved my goal as a wedding photographer.
Honor and Aziz’s wedding really brought all this home to me for a slightly different reason. Aziz grew up in Turkey and his parents were too ill to make the trip to the UK for the wedding. And his brother wasn’t able to make it either. So the *only* way Aziz’s family would experience his wedding in glorious technicolour were through my photos and the film from my great friend Dave at B2B Productions. That’s massive. It’s a massive responsibility on the one hand, for sure, but more than reminding me of the responsibility, it hammered home more how lucky I am to be able to provide that for people – that’s the power of photography and I hope when Aziz’s parents and brother see the photos it brings them immense joy that they feel they’ve experienced the day in some way, despite not being able to be there in person.
Within moments of meeting Honor and Aziz I realised what HUGE characters they are. Just a joy to be around and the fact their marquee at Honor’s parents home in Nottinghamshire was jam packed with their family and friends who adore them was testament to that fact. But I also wanted to try and capture those moments when their minds, and Aziz’s in particular was with his family, and I’ve included a couple in the selection below which really felt quite powerful.
But above all, Honor and Aziz just wanted to have immense fun from start to finish with their favourite people in the world and they totally achieved that. It was a day of almost non-stop laughter and craziness. And when they finally hit the dance floor at 10:30pm it was absolute carnage, just the way I’m sure they wanted it!!
It was a huge pleasure for me to capture Honor and Aziz’s amazing church and marquee wedding in Nottinghamshire and here are some of my favourites from their day…
