Newstead Abbey wedding photography – Jemma + Matt
Jemma and Matt’s scorching Summer wedding at Newstead Abbey
I loved Jemma and Matt’s wedding at Newstead Abbey! Such an incredible venue and they struck gold with the weather too!
After spending the first part of the morning with Jemma and the girls in a very excitable house I zipped over to see Matt and the boys at home, then back to the girls before zipping over to Newstead Abbey. It’s truly one of those venues where you drive up and gasp a bit – especially when it’s bathed in perfect summer sunshine! I always find ceremonies in these super old buildings feel super special, imagining all the things that must have happened there over the years – Jemma and Matt nervously giggled their way through the ceremony before heading out into the epic grounds of Newstead Abbey for some portraits in the sunshine!
The speeches were really special, and I thought it was amazing how there was a place setting for Matt’s late Nan, especially in a year where I lost my own Nan. Very poignant and a lovely touch.
After the speeches everyone headed outside again to enjoy the best of a British summer evening, and we made some more portraits as the sun set over Newstead Abbey, even being given access to some of the oldest rooms in the abbey itself. Such a great day for such a great couple!
