Rise Hall Wedding Photography
Carole and Steve’s breathtaking and crazy fun wedding at Rise Hall
I’ve waited a long time to photograph a wedding at Rise Hall and let me tell you it was worth the wait – and if I could have picked a first wedding to shoot there I’d pick Carole and Steven’s every time! What a flipping day this was! It was one of those days which picked you up at the beginning and dropped you at the other end in a blissful, happy, worn out heap and left you wondering what the heck happened in between!
I arrived at Rise Hall to find my good friends from York Place Films were on moving picture duty that day! Result! Then I met the brilliant Pamella Dunn who had planned this whole wedding for Carole and Steven and we instantly got on like a house on fire. I hadn’t even met Carole or Steven at this point but I already knew it was going to be a tremendous day. The team from Red Floral were busily creating masterpieces all over the building and as we searched Rise Hall for Steven I totally fell in love with the soul of this amazing venue! Seriously, what a place. I want to live there!!
I eventually found Carole and Steven. I managed to get a few photos of Carole sitting still having her makeup done, and I managed to run around Rise Hall trying to keep up with Steven as he greeted every single guest with hugs, kisses and struggled to hold back the tears. He was so elated to be marrying Carole and each time someone said something nice to him, out came the hanky. What a guy. Seriously. If you look up ‘heart on your sleeve’ there’s a photo of Steven.
These two have absolutely wicked senses of humour and the atmosphere at Rise Hall was absolutely tremendous. For such a carefully planned, beautifully styled wedding it had such a down to earth, homely feel to it and that’s absolutely down to the expertise of the extraordinary Pamella Dunn, the soul of Rise Hall and the immensely fun and loving characters of Carole and Steven.
When it was time for the ceremony, Steven thought he’d got his emotions in check. But once the string quartet started playing for Carole’s entrance, the hanky was out again. After being told not to take any photos during the ceremony I still managed to get a few lovely moments between the two of them. Moments that I couldn’t resist capturing.
After a laughter-filled drinks reception in the grounds of Rise Hall, they filled their champagne fountain and sat down for dinner and speeches. Possibly some of the greatest speeches I’ve heard – the whole room was either roaring with laughter or drying their eyes for well over an hour! Then fireworks and a packed dance floor all night long. Perfect.
Massive congratulations to the amazing Carole and Steven. Here are some of my favourites from their wedding at Rise Hall…
