Jen and Dan’s New Year’s Eve Wedding at Iscoyd Park, Shropshire
Iscoyd Park is one of my absolute favourite wedding venues anywhere. It just feels like home. As soon as you walk through the front door there’s just a sense of peace and comfort, everyone there is just so friendly and welcoming and lovely, and it’s not too shabby to look at either. Beautiful! Jen and Dan’s wedding on New Years eve was only my second visit and it was so good to be back on what was a glorious and unseasonally warm winter’s day. I had struck it lucky with the weather a year earlier for Faye and Lee’s Iscoyd Park wedding too!
Jen started her hair and makeup at the almost-as-lovely Willington Lodge just up the road and then transferred across to Iscoyd Park for finishing touches and to put her dress on. While they were getting married at the super quaint little St Mary’s Church at Whitewell, the weather took a more seasonal turn and they emerged from the church into blustery rain, so we all hot footed it back to the cosy comfort of Iscoyd Park. I’ll be honest, when we arrived back there I honestly thought that would be it for the rest of the day – rain, rain and more rain, but no! Pretty soon after the clouds disappeared and the weather just got better and better all day. By the evening it was pretty freezing but we were treated to a completely clear, star filled sky and I took Jen and Dan into the darkest corner of Iscoyd Park to make the most of it!
This was also my first EVER new year’s eve wedding! Obviously that doesn’t change the fundamentals of what was happening but there was a bit of a party vibe all day long, with people very ready to let their hair down and see the new year in by the time the band started playing in the evening. It was such a fun dance floor, with props and masks being passed around and people just laughing and dancing the year away. Such a pleasure to party with these guys!
