Achnagairn House Wedding Photography Inverness
Katie and Rog’s absolutely incredible wedding in the Scottish Highlands
Sometimes it all just clicks.
Before I knew it, it was midnight and there were lots of happy people in a circle below me singing Loch Lomond at the top of their lungs. Meanwhile, two of the loveliest people I’ve ever met milked it for all it was worth, running round high fiving all their closest friends and family not wanting the feeling or the day to ever end. I stood there, seeing as much as my viewfinder would allow, feeling extremely tired but supremely thankful that somehow photography appeared and changed me and my life as I knew it into what it is today.
Rewind.
7am. I met Rog and his crazy best men and ushers as they made the trip down to Loch Ness for a swim. A naked swim. In December. The very thought of it still makes me feel cold! When they told me the night before that this was their plan for the morning it didn’t take me long to realise they were deadly serious and this set the tone for what was one of the most enjoyable wedding days I’ve ever been a part of. People make weddings, and these people rule.
Katie and Rog rule. They rule because they are just crazy in love with each other and this wedding wasn’t about the amazing venue in the highlands of Scotland or the sword parades or the sky full of stars. It was just about love. And that rules.
I have to say though, Achnagairn House (or Achnagairn Castle, I can never work out what it’s called) is an in-cred-ible venue. I stayed in a room in one of the lodges for the weekend and there’s just something about the place that makes you feel like you’re in your own super cool little awesome world.
Oh and it snowed!! After a crappy weather couple of weeks it snowed for this one day, and the next morning it was gone again! Fairytale stuff!
Massssssive thanks to Katie and Rog for having me along as your Achnagairn House wedding photographer. I loved every single minute with you guys, I felt like a guest, loved the food, loved your families and friends and most of all loved getting to know you two. Be happy forever.
