Kishan and Sachna’s Brecon Beacons pre-wedding photoshoot at Sgwd yr Eira

When we were planning locations for Kishan and Sachna’s pre-wedding shoot we were under some pressure… I have photographed Kishan’s two cousins weddings and both of them had chosen pretty epic locations for their pre-wedding shoots with Natasha and Sachin going for the amazing Jurassic Coast and Amar and Vruti flying me out to Barcelona. So we talked about locations all the way from the highlands of Scotland to some of Europe’s beauty spots. But in the end we chose Wales’ incredible Brecon Beacons national park and its most instagrammed waterfall, Sgwd yr Eira. I’m not even going to pretend I know how to pronounce that.

We met up in the middle of the afternoon and set off for the 1.5 hour hike down to the waterfall, making photos as we went. It was such a fun walk and really great for me to get to know Kishan and Sachna as we walked, stumbled, tripped and laughed our way there, even planning locations for a collection of in-forest food franchises!

When we arrived at Sgwd yr Eira, we were so lucky to have the waterfall totally to ourselves! We explored and made pictures before heading back to the car and driving up to secret location number two to wait for the sunset that never came, but the sky did put on a pretty good colour-show for us!

I really can’t wait for Kishan and Sachna’s wedding at Northbrook Park in Surrey later this month!
