A Hampton Court Castle Wedding
C+J’s summer Hampton Court Castle wedding full of iconic moments
Venue: Hampton Court Castle
I’ve seen a lot of wedding venues in my globetrotting career, but still every so often a new venue takes my breath away and that happened at Charlotte and Joe’s Hampton Court Castle wedding. I arrived a bit early as I always do just for a wander around, get the lay of the land, and start to get the inspiration synapses firing. And as soon as I drove up to Hampton Court Castle, I couldn’t believe how amazing it was!
The first photo below is the very first photo I took as I walked into Hampton Court Castle. The absolute peaceful serenity of the most poignant spot of the whole day, where they’d say their vows only a couple of hours later. So cool.
This was quite unusual for me – it’s only happened a handful of times over my 600+ weddings, but I hadn’t met C+J since our initial pre-booking meeting. They’d filled in my pre-wedding form so I knew everything that was going on but when I did meet them both on the day it honestly felt like I’d been their best mate for years. They were getting ready on opposite sides of Hampton Court Castle and I bounced between their rooms throughout the morning to capture all the moments, and there were plenty of moments to be captured!
A castle courtyard wedding ceremony
C+J’s wedding ceremony was in the courtyard of Hampton Court Castle and it was epic. Joe’s emotions were bubbling as he waited at the front, and Charlotte’s emotions sit right on the surface anyway, that had been clear to me all day, and as soon as she appeared in the doorway there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. But as soon as she got to the front to join Joe, pure happiness and joy took over and they laughed their way through a really beautiful ceremony, apart from a few really beautiful quiet moments during their personal vows.
After some drinks, some group photos, and a wander round the castle for some couple photos, it was back inside for speeches and dinner. The atmosphere in there was amazing, and the speeches were super personal and heartfelt.
After dinner, Charlotte and Joe really wanted to explore the formal gardens of Hampton Court Castle now they’d been closed to the public, so we headed over to explore. I think it was one of their favourite moments of the day! We found the maze via some cool tunnels where I took one of my favourite bridal portraits of the year, and they just forgot I was there most of the time and just spent a bit of time together taking in all that had happened on their wedding day.
Back into the castle to finish the day with a sword cake-cutting and some dancing.
Absolute perfection, and Hampton Court Castle easily goes into my top 10 favourite wedding venues, without a doubt!
I hope you enjoy seeing some of my favourites from this Hampton Court Castle wedding
