Amar and Vruti’s Indian wedding in London at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 Hilton

A few weeks ago I blogged Vruti and Amar’s amazing Barcelona engagement shoot. It was so brilliant to hang out with them for the best part of a day in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, having met them late last summer at Amar’s brother Sachin’s wedding to Natasha in Cardiff. I didn’t really meet Amar or Vruti properly in Cardiff but after spending time with them in Barcelona, arriving to their wedding was like coming to join a group of old friends as I knew so many of their family and friends already. Such a great feeling!

Amar and Vruti held their wedding at the Hilton at Heathrow Airport Terminal 5. They had a very full day of celebrations planned and I met up with Amar super early while he was getting ready for their Indian ceremony, before he headed down to arrive in style in a Lamborghini Gallardo. It was really cool how many of the hotel guests came out to witness him getting into the car and driving around to officially arrive for the wedding. He must have felt like a celebrity – in fact I think being a celebrity would actually suit Amar really well!!

Once Amar had made his official entrance for the wedding, I headed to find Vruti, waiting patiently in her room for someone to collect her and bring her down to the ceremony. The colours at Indian weddings are one of my favourite things and I was able to capture some nice portraits of Vruti before heading back to the Mandap for the official ceremonies to begin.

The ceremony was packed with moments – Amar and Vruti’s connection is so wonderful to witness, they are best friends and it really shows, as they exchanged smiles and often made each other laugh during the ceremony itself. Once Vruti’s family had said their official goodbyes to her at the Vidai ceremony, everybody went off to get changed for the reception, which was absolutely moment packed again through the speeches and dancing.
