Anna and Sam’s joyous marquee wedding in Northampton
What a day this was for Anna and Sam. I’d been so looking forward to meeting Anna and Sam, I knew from the first moment we spoke we were going to get along like a total house on fire, and we really did. I arrived at the house in the morning to find a very excited Anna unable to sit still, jogging all over the place doing finishing touches here there and everywhere. Their reception was taking place in a marquee in the grounds of Sam’s mum’s house, and all their decor was home made and incredible but having it just outside meant Anna couldn’t stay away, but eventually she had to sit down, sit still, and have her hair and makeup done.
It was a short walk down the road to the church where I was banished to the back, but managed to discreetly find my way to the front and get quite a few photos for Anna and Sam. I’m sure I’ll be forgiven for bending the rules for the greater good 😉
After the ceremony, Anna and Sam led their guests back up the hill to the marquee, and arrived just in time as the rain began to pour, and it poured all afternoon. I said to them at the time it was just because they’d made the marquee look so good, the weather just wanted to keep their guests in there admiring their handiwork and getting the most out of it!!
But after dinner that magical thing happened. The rain stopped and the sun shone, but the sky stayed moody and then… RAINBOW! We ran out and made the most of those dry, sunny, ethereal 20 minutes or so before the weather turned again. It was so fun as we ran around together making photos in the sunshine we’d almost given up on! And the weather broke again later on just in time for their sparkler exit.
Good things happen to great people. And that’s what Anna and Sam are. Here are some of my favourites from their wedding…
