A Very Sunny Garden Marquee Wedding

Millie and Ru’s Garden Marquee Wedding at home in Lound, Nottinghamshire

I love a wedding venue, but there’s just something so wonderfully special about home weddings. And that’s what Millie and Ru had at Millie’s childhood home in Nottinghamshire. I arrived in the morning to a lovely chilled atmosphere and everyone buzzing round getting ready. I had a wander down to the end of the garden where the finishing touches were being applied to the marquee and the garden games were waiting for the guests later on. There would be some pretty competitive sunset table tennis played which you’ll see as you scroll this post, plus flying burritos… as you do.

The ceremony was at the local Catholic Church, and it was a really lovely ceremony for Millie and Ru.

After the ceremony I walked down to the lake with Millie and Ru, somewhere Millie had many memories from growing up and it was amazing to be making new ones with them and capturing them for them on their wedding day. We headed down to the lake again at sunset.

The rest of the day was spent in the garden and the marquee – heartfelt speeches, great food, lots of drink and countless hugs all punctuated with laughter! A perfect garden marquee wedding.
