A Stockton House wedding
Elle and Ben’s uniquely beautiful Stockton House wedding
Venue: Stockton House
Humanist Celebrant: Zena Birch
Every so often, once or twice a year, one of my photographer friends asks me to shoot their wedding. I met Elle at a workshop a few years ago and we’ve been mates ever since. I was so over the moon when she got in touch to ask me to be her and Ben’s photographer – ok that’s a lie, I might have tried to talk her out of it! It’s a tough gig being a photographer for another photographer! Especially for an overthinker like me!
But no, I was genuinely over the moon. I’d have been so jealous if anyone else got to be their photographer! And what an incredible day it was. I think when you spend your life in the wedding industry it’s hard to just become a bride and groom but Elle and Ben (who is a wedding videographer) did a pretty good job of settling in and enjoying the ride.
They picked Stockton House as their venue. Stockton House is a new venue on the scene – I think Elle and Ben’s was only the second or third wedding there. And I think that’s partly why Elle and Ben picked it, instead of getting married at somewhere they were used to working!
One of the absolute highlights of Elle and Ben’s wedding was that I finally got to work with the totally amazing Humanist celebrant, Zena Birch. Zena’s ceremony absolutely made the day for Elle and Ben and all their guests, and me. Truly! If you’re considering a Humanist celebrant for your wedding, speak to Zena!
I had two other major highlights of this day. First was Ben’s reaction to Elle as she walks down the aisle, and second was Ben getting up with the band to sing Bombtrack by Rage Against the Machine at the end of the night. Yeah I’m a big Ben fan, ok! I already knew Elle was great, turns out Ben is also great. They’re perfect for each other.
