A Cotswolds wedding at Stone Barn
Elena and Adam’s Cotswolds wedding at Stone Barn
What an amazing day this was at the famous Stone Barn near Cheltenham in the always amazing Cotswolds, even on a grey rainy day like Elena and Adam’s wedding! Yep, it rained almost from morning to night for them but seriously nothing was going to dampen their spirits this day.
I arrived to a little cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold where Elena was getting ready with a house full of family. Seriously – full of family! Elena is from Cyprus and so she had some traditional Cyprus wedding traditions planned for the morning once she was in her dress. I won’t pretend to know what happened or why but it was such a fun way to start the day as they danced and laughed and honoured the traditions from Elena’s birthplace.
After that I headed over to Stone Barn. Now, Stone Barn is one of the most popular wedding venues in the UK and it’s kind of famous amongst photographers. I’ve been wanting to work there for a long time and it didn’t disappoint! I’ve said it before in my blogs that some wedding venues just have a special soul, and Stone Barn is one of them. It’s also run by an amazingly lovely team – super organised but without imposing themselves on the day.
Because of the weather, almost the whole day was spent indoors, but at a venue as beautiful as this it doesn’t matter – although I did keep an eye on the weather and during a break in the rain during dinner I managed to get some of the trademark Cotswolds landscape into Elena and Adam’s photos for them, and they were back just as their main course was being served.
A perfect day for a wonderful couple at an iconic venue. See you soon I hope Stone Barn. Thanks for having me Elena and Adam!
