Award Winning Destination Wedding Photography
Junebug Weddings Best of the Best Destination Wedding Photos
Earlier this year, Junebug Weddings invited me to join their prestigious hotlist of the “world’s best wedding photographers” – this was a list I’d admired from afar over the last few years, full of people who I’ve looked up to and I was over the moon to become a part of it.
Then last week I found out Junebug had named me amongst the “best of the best” destination wedding photographers, thanks to this photo I took of Kate and David at their wedding in Sorrento. I couldn’t quite believe it when I first got the email to tell me I had been included. I still can’t actually!
I remember starting out as a wedding photographer just over four years ago, not knowing whether it would work out or whether I could be any good at it, although hoping and praying it would and that I could. I was concentrating back then only on weddings in and around Manchester and not really knowing it was possible to see further than that. Since then I’m astounded at what’s happened – weddings in France, Italy, Hong Kong, Kenya, Lapland, Ireland and Thailand have made it possible for me to justifiably see myself as a destination wedding photographer. And now to see my name on a list of the best of the best destination wedding photographers alongside people who I see as the best in the world and judged by some of my wedding photography heroes is humbling and amazing in equal measure. It’s kind of a dream actually.
Thanks Junebug, thanks judges, and thanks especially to Kate and David for making me part of your wedding in Sorrento. Here’s the winning photo:
