Destination Wedding Photography – Naivasha Kenya
Well day one was incredible, and after about four hours sleep we were back in the thick of the action starting at 7am with Parit’s mandvo ceremony. Day two was the main events day – all leading up to the main wedding ceremony in the late afternoon. Parit and Sonal’s wedding was so well planned and they used all the best locations at Enashipai.
We started in a poolside function room, then down to the incredibly beautiful lakeside lawn (home of the hippos!) back to poolside for the Jaan procession down again to lakeside for the main ceremony then ended the day back at poolside for dinner and music. An altogether much more reserved day than yesterday but absolutely epic in every possible way.
Having never experienced a Hindu wedding before, I didn’t entirely know what to expect and I kept being surprised at how emotional the whole thing was and how it’s such a family event. On the surface it looks like a flamboyant affair, and in some ways it is, but I was drawn into the enormity of what was happening, of the support and respect that was being demonstrated by both families and the joy being experienced by Parit and Sonal. Weddings are always a privilege to witness, and I felt blessed to be part of Parit and Sonal’s celebrations.
Anyway… day two… the photos…
