Indian Destination Wedding – Khao Lak, Thailand
Sandhya and Parit’s destination wedding in Thailand
Where do I even start with this one? I’ve already blogged a preview but I thought it was about time I put up a few more photos! It was way back in April when I hopped on a couple of planes with my wing man for this one Chris Mee for Sandhya and Parit’s extravaganza of a wedding at the JW Marriott Resort in Khao Lak, Thailand. In 2014 I had photographed the amazing Meera and Meeraj’s wedding in Thailand – Sandhya is one of Meera’s best friends, and her and Parit booked me for a return trip to Thailand soon after I got home from M+M’s wedding. I couldn’t have been more delighted!
All stationery, styling, planning and event co-ordination by the absolutely amazing Originally Yours.
On the first day we explored the resort and shot some pre-wedding portraits…
The next morning the formal ceremonies started with Sandhya’s family formally inviting Parit and his family to the wedding…
That night was Sandhya and Parit’s ‘white party’ down on the beach front at the JW Marriott Khao Lak. The focal point were two 10-foot high letters of Sandhya and Parit’s initials. The music was amazing, the food was insane and (as would be a theme of this wedding) the party carried on well into the early hours!
Mandvo and Pithi ceremonies on the mornings of day 2 and 3…
Mendhi party, and one of the hottest days I’ve ever experienced! It was insanely hot!
Sangeet night. This is where the friends and family make speeches and perform for Sandhya and Parit. Such a fun night and more immense styling by the Originally Yours team!
Wedding day! After the crazy heat of the previous day it was much cooler when we woke up on day 3. Still super humid but a bit overcast… Chris and I split up – he went to shoot some photos of Parit getting ready while I stayed with Sandhya. As the wedding approached, the weather started to turn and soon it was full on monsoon rain. So at the last minute, plans for an outdoor ceremony had to be scrapped but the atmosphere in the ball room was still electric. I think my favourite moment was when I realised Sandhya’s heavily pregnant sister was watching the ceremony via FaceTime – I love technology!!
Amazing styling, wonderful people, atmospheric ceremonies and bonkers parties! What a three days this was, it took me some time to recover afterwards!!! Congratulations to Sandhya and Parit and good luck with your new life in Kenya! Thanks for having me and Chris as your destination wedding photographers – it was unforgettable!!!
