Ab and Stu’s wedding at the picturesque and private Brinsop Court
If you read my blog regularly you’ll know I often end up feeling like more of a guest and a friend at my weddings than part of the staff or the ‘official photographer’. It’s a wonderful feeling and makes me love my so-called job even more than ever. It’s the people side of weddings that I love the most, meeting inspirational and amazing people in love week-in and week-out is really the best.
But this was one of those weddings where I felt more like family. Like a best mate. That’s how these guys make you feel. This was the second time I’ve been lucky enough to work with Abbie’s family, having photographed her sister Genna’s wedding to Steve a couple of years earlier, and I had been soooo looking forward to seeing them all again, and it totally lived up to my expectations and then some! They are the funniest, funnest, and most warm-hearted people you could ever hope to meet. They laugh all the time and they love each other sooooo much! And the same goes for Stu and his family. Immense people, and I got to spend a whole day with them all!
They had an intimate summer wedding at the quite phenomenal Brinsop Court Estate in Herefordshire. Just them and their absolute nearest and dearest at this peaceful and private gem of a wedding venue. They got married mid-week and by the time I got there on the wedding day they’d already all been there a couple of days settling in so it felt like I was arriving at their house! They got married in the garden, had drinks, hugs and games in the garden, then we wandered around the grounds making some portraits before a really nice intimate wedding dinner in the house which they were kind enough to give me a seat at the table. After dinner we made the most of the sunset with some more portraits before heading back into the house for dancing. Just one of the best atmospheres I’ve ever experienced at a wedding from the start of the day to the end. I was genuinely sad to leave!
