Isle of Man wedding at Amisfield House
Pagan and Matthew’s wedding on the Isle of Man at Amisfield House
I went to the Isle of Man when I was about 14 or 15 I think, as part of the crew of the Tall Ship “The Greater Manchester Challenge”. We stopped in Douglas for a couple of hours then sailed back. Random story, but that’s my only experience of the Isle of Man before Pagan and Matthew’s wedding. So I think it’s safe to say I had never really been there before!
I arrived into Douglas, and Matthew instantly picked me up to give me a mini-tour of the island and their venues, and some ideas he had for spots to stop at on the wedding day for some portraits. “What do you think?” he asked as I stood staring in awe of the most spectacular views wherever you look… what an amazing place!
On the wedding day they had their ceremony at a church in Douglas, before driving over to Amisfield House in St Judes for their reception… The weather was totally spectacular all day and it was a scorcher. They spent ages out with their guests on the lawn at Amisfield House before heading in for the most incredible food by The Grill Pit – I love meeting other wedding suppliers who are full of passion for what they do and Darren & co at the grill pit are so passionate.
In the evening I took Pagan and Matthew down to the local beach for some sunset portraits before whisking them back to their party, where even the European Cup made an appearance! What a day – I can’t wait to go back to the Isle of Man as soon as possible!
