A Silverholme Manor wedding
Richard and Mary’s uniquely beautiful Silverholme Manor wedding
Venue: Silverholme Manor, Lake District
It was on that beautiful summer-autumn transition that New Zealander Mary and Brit Richard came to the gorgeous Lake District for their Silverholme Manor wedding. They wanted an outdoor blessing ceremony, with the world famous Lake Windermere in the background but it was that time of year when you just never quite know what weather the great British Lake District is going to throw at you. Actually you never quite know what weather the Lake District has in store, but if you could order perfect weather then we got it for Richard and Mary’s Silverholme manor wedding!
Silverholme is such an amazing venue, this was my first visit but I absolutely fell in love with it. I love a venue that doesn’t feel like a wedding production line and honestly it felt like I was arriving at Richard and Mary’s house, with Richard sat outside having a beer and Mary upstairs with her bridesmaids – I knew where to find them because I just followed the laughter and that really set the tone for the day.
Richard and Mary wanted a laid back, intimate celebration that was as much about their family and friends who had joined from different sides of the world, and that’s exactly what it was. The outdoor blessing ceremony, some drinks, hugs, kisses and chats… A few laid back portraits around Silverholme, then dinner, speeches and some dancing. It was perfect.
This was also the day of the Harvest Moon and just before I left I suggested they sit together and take it in, while I tried to make a cool photo of them and the moon. You can see it above but you’ll see it at the end without any words over the top of it. I was really happy with how it turned out, but I was even happier that Mary said it was one of their favourite moments of the day, just sat together taking it in.
I loved this wedding, I love Silverholme Manor and I love the Lake District. A whole lotta love.
