Right so you’re engaged and now you’ve got one of the biggest decisions of your whole wedding planning to make – the venue! Well don’t worry I’m here for you with some tips for choosing the perfect venue for your Indian wedding and what to look for during your wedding venue research and venue visits! I’m here for you!
Hello by the way, I’m Adam and I’m a wedding photographer and specialist Indian wedding photographer in Cheshire, available for your wedding in Cheshire, Manchester, or anywhere else in the UK or world. I’m a highly experienced Indian wedding photographer and I’ve photographed beautiful Indian weddings all over the UK as well as in Kenya twice and Thailand twice.
All the photography on this page is my Indian wedding photography so if you love what you see and find my venue tips helpful, please get in touch and tell me about your wedding plans! Let’s get into this list of amazing Indian wedding venues!
I asked my past couples what was important to them when they were picking a venue and here’s some of what they said:
Each of these Indian wedding venues offers something unique for Asian and Indian weddings. I’ll start with a couple of my favourites in Cheshire but these venues are located all over the UK, and at the end of the article I’ll tell you about a few super cool looking venues where I’ve not yet worked!
I took the photo above during Miriam and Dan’s Indian wedding at Capesthorne Hall. This venue is absolutely epic in every way from the stunning house, the sprawling gardens, the lake and this marquee you can see here where they had their ceremony. Their wedding was planned by the awesome wedding planner Kate Park Events – check out this shot of the main marquee before anyone entered:
This gorgeous moment above was from the Hindu wedding ceremony for Niyati and Andrew’s Cheshire Indian Wedding at Nunsmere Hall, which took place in the permanent marquee. The amazing thing about Nunsmere hall as an Indian wedding venue is you’ll get ready in one of the lovely bedrooms (it has plenty of accommodation for your VIP guests) and you can also host smaller events like your civil ceremony in one of the rooms of the house so you don’t have to do it all in the marquee like you would at some venues.
Honestly, Offley Place is probably my favourite Indian Wedding Venue, and it’s nowhere near Cheshire! The photo above is one I took during Bijal and Hursh’s Indian wedding at Offley Place and since then I’m really proud to be a recommended supplier at Offley Place and have been back many more times. If anyone asks me, Offley Place is my top recommendation for your Indian wedding venue.
The grand ballroom at Offley Place is one of the most versatile spaces at any wedding venue, and has the added bonus of being filled with the most beautiful natural light which is just amazing for your ceremony photos. The photo above was taken during the Zoroastrian Wedding Ceremony at Offley Place.
The Baraat (groom’s arrival) is such a key part of most Indian weddings, so finding a venue with a good long driveway like the one at Offley Place is ideal! And then it’s just your job to milk every moment like Hitesh is doing above at his Offley Place Indian wedding to Priya!
I’ve worked at some incredible and unique Indian wedding venues around the world, but I think Devonshire Dome is maybe the most awe-inspiringly unique of them all on the inside. It’s huge! Sarita and Jeetesh had their Indian Wedding at Devonshire Dome and I’d say the only drawback of the venue is that it doesn’t have much space for the Baraat. Apart from that, once you’re inside, epic is an understatement!
I haven’t even mentioned how important the reception is yet have I? This photo above is Jeetesh living his best life during their reception with that epic dome above him! So good!
The cool thing about Devonshire dome as an Indian wedding venue is that it’s a hidden gem and I bet you don’t really know anyone who’s got married there? Uniqueness always scores highly with me! Check this venue out for your Indian wedding for sure.
Mentioning the Baraat again, Winstanley House in Leicester has a great long approach to this and you can stay in the car for longer so might want to think about something vintage and topless like Shiv did at his Winstanley House Indian wedding to Nim!
Another super cool feature of Winstanley House which is unusual amongst Indian wedding venues, is that they take you into the fully private walled garden for some photos and it’s so nice to have that privacy, although there’s also a great garden at the back and a massive park right next to the venue!
If top of your list while searching Indian wedding venues is “must have a peacock willing to pose for photos with us” then Northbrook Park is the clear winner! This cool moment was during Neel and Olivia’s Indian Wedding at Northbrook Park!
Can you tell I absolutely love a Baraat? The great thing about Northbrook Park is it’s definitely an all-weather all-year-round venue.
Sindoor during the Hindu wedding ceremony during Sachna and Kishan’s Northbrook Park wedding, and one of my favourite ever ceremony shots!
As far as Indian wedding venues go, if luxury and grandeur with a more intimate vibe is what you want then Hedsor is such a perfect venue. Above you can see Piotr making his approach to the house just before his Hindu wedding at Hedsor to Nikki.
Hedsor truly has some of the most beautiful grounds of any of the Indian wedding venues anywhere in the world in my opinion, and if you want to make time to explore them with me on your wedding day, we will.
If you’ve not yet read it, I’ve got a page all about what makes me a great Indian Wedding Photographer, so head over and read that too while you’re here!
One of my favourite ever Indian wedding photos is this one of Miriam arriving with her family into Sefton Palm House. I always say to anyone that the venue is only ever a background to the iconic moments of your wedding, as far as your photos are concerned but it’s also a huge part of your experience and the experience of your guests. Sefton Palm House is an amazing venue.
Some venues just create party vibes. Sefton Palm House is one of them!
A photo from Anita and Alkay’s Sri Lankan Asian Wedding at Parklands Quendon Hall. The pavilion at Quendon Hall is so light and bright for ceremonies, it’s great if you’re into the light and colourful style of photography for your wedding.
Whichever Indian wedding venue you choose, it’s important to look at where you’ll be spending the vast majority of the day (usually the ceremony and reception will be in the same room). The pavilion at Parklands Quendon Hall transforms for the evening reception and it’s a big space that lends itself to any style of decor.
The photo above is one I took during the Hindu ceremony at Sharan and Raveena’s Indian wedding at Stoneleigh Abbey. They actually spent two full days at the abbey, including an outdoor civil ceremony, dinner in the main house, Hindu ceremony in the conservatory and reception in the riding school. It’s probably one of the most amazing Indian wedding venues in the country if you’ve got a big guest list for your reception especially!
Probably one of the most striking buildings in the country, and with amazing grounds for your photos makes Stoneleigh Abbey an epic choice for your Indian wedding.
I’d say this is a venue with a very similar vibe to Stoneleigh Abbey but at the other side of the country. Here you can see Bowes Museum in the background as Archit arrives for his Indian wedding at Bowes Museum to Shivani.
Like most venues, lots of your wedding at Bowes Museum would take place in the marquee. Obviously we get to use the house itself for your getting ready photos and portraits but apart from that you’re in a marquee. Not a bad thing, I just don’t think a lot of couples think about the fact that 90% of your day is spent in a marquee and the main venue is often just a cool photo prop.
That’s the amazing Sajnee and Akhil framed by the cool architecture of Hilton Syon Park for their Indian wedding at Syon Park. I actually love this venue and I’m not usually a fan of hotel venues, but Hilton Syon Park is a cool one and somehow feels nice and private.
Obviously being a hotel it also has the added benefit of having loads of accommodation for you and your guests. Always helps when you know you’re going to have an epic party like Sajnee and Akhil did!
The grand ballroom at Hilton Syon Park was transformed completely for Sajnee and Akhil – if you’ve got grand plans or are using a planner with good vision then it’s worth picking one of the Indian wedding venues that’s sort of a blank canvas so you can turn it into whatever you want!
Beyond these top venues, there are plenty more amazing locations perfect for Indian weddings. Here are a few more I’d love to capture:
A stunning stately home surrounded by beautiful gardens, offering plenty of space for a large celebration.
A breathtaking, historic venue with grand architecture that adds a regal touch to any wedding.
An industrial-chic venue with a raw, urban aesthetic that can be transformed into a spectacular wedding space.
Your wedding venue sets the stage for your unforgettable celebrations and will be a huge part of your experience and your guests experience on your wedding day. Whether you’re drawn to the historic charm of a stately home or the grandeur of a modern estate, each of these venues provides the perfect backdrop for a spectacular Indian wedding.
